Kin’s Farm Market head office, located in Richmond, is hiring a full-time Trainer for the Corporate Development Department. 

 

The Trainer is primarily responsible for delivery of operational and management skills training related to Store Operations. This individual would be required to provide training at the different Kin’s Farm Market produce stores and associated produce stores. 

 

Flexibility would be a big asset as the Trainer would need to work 5.5 days a week, which would include weekends. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

- Provide hands on instruction and supervision to assistant manger trainees and shift leader trainees.
- Deliver Training programs with Head Trainer and designated staff. 
- Train, monitor progress and follow up on trainees’ operational and management knowledge and skills.
- Coordinate and follow up with staff that assist in training to ensure that training standards are up to company standard.
- Follow and guide trainees to follow Kin’s Farm Market’s Mission, Culture, Spirit, Rules, Store Quality Standards, and Company Policies.
- Stay current with company policies and training to maintain quality training standards. 
- Answer inquiries related to training. 
- Evaluate performance of trainees’ for all examinations and provides feedback to trainees. 
- Coordinates with Head Trainer by delivering management training lectures. 
- Coordinates with Head Trainer by participating in entry examinations for potential trainee candidates. 
- Plans and arranges the Training Centre Management & Trainee work schedule.
- Share job rotation of operations management duties with Head Trainer and Store Management in Training Centre/ designated training store. 
- Assist in the Training on development of course content, writing materials, and training videos. 
- Access training needs for Training Program by providing feedback to Head Trainer.
- Provide feedback and contribution to company meetings. This includes training, manager meetings, general meetings at head office, and others as required.
- Back up duties for Head Trainer.

Qualifications:

-Two years related experience or combination of experience and education.  Produce retail experience would be a huge plus.  
- Specialize in the produce market operation management. 
- Passionate and positive attitude in guiding others to grow and enjoy working in the produce retail industry. 
- Decent computer skills using various computer software. 
- Able to speak more than one language is an asset. 
- Good communication, presentation, planning and interpersonal skills. 
- Teaching experience is an asset.
- Must have a level 5 BCDL and a vehicle to drive to the different stores in the Lower Mainland (ie. over 100 kms)

 INGREDIENTS

4 cups Brussels sprouts, halved or quartered if large

3 cups seedless grapes

½ cup walnuts

2 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp fresh thyme

Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. Place halved sprouts along with grapes and walnuts on a baking sheet.  Drizzle olive oil evenly over the top, sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss to coat.

3. Roast for 25-30 minutes or until the sprouts are well-browned in places, nuts are fully toasted and grapes are plumped and darkened in color.

4. As soon as you remove the pan from the oven drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the contents of the pan and toss to coat. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with a little sea salt, if desired. 

 

 INGREDIENTS

1 9” pie crust 

2 cups of Pumpkin Puree (fresh or canned)

1 cup packed brown sugar

¾ cup evaporated milk

2 eggs, beaten

2 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp nutmeg

1tsp ground ginger

½ tsp salt  

 

INSTRUCTIONS

In bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, sugar, evaporated milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 425°F (220°C) in the oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F (180°C) and bake for another 30 minutes or until knife inserted in centre comes out clean. Let cool on rack.

 

For the Bread Pudding: 

INGREDIENTS:

1 loaf French bread (approx 16 ounces) cut into cubes

2 1/2 cups (24 ounces) whipping cream

1 cup (8ounces) milk

½ cup granulated sugar

½ tsp salt

8 ounces white chocolate

6 large eggs

1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, thawed

½ tsp cinnamon

 

DIRECTIONS:

1) In a large saucepan, heat the whipping cream, milk and sugar over medium heat. Add in salt and cinnamon. When hot, take the saucepan off the heat and stir in white chocolate pieces until melted.

2) Lightly beat the eggs in a bowl and slowly pour the hot cream mixture in a steady flow, whipping the eggs as you pour.

3) Soak the bread pieces into the mixture and add in ¾ cup of the cranberries. Mix until everything is combined and transfer to the greased 9-by13-inch pan. Use a spatula to press down the bread so that everything is soaked.

4) Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until set and golden on top. 

 

For the Sauce: 

INGREDIENTS:

4 ounces white chocolate

1 ½ cup milk

 

DIRECTIONS:

Boil the milk in a small sauce pan. Take off the heat and stir in white chocolate pieces until smooth and melted. Pour over the liquid sauce over the bread pudding when it comes out of the oven. Finish with more cranberries and confectioner’s sugar.
